Moab Maiden Petroglyph is a solitary anthropomorphic (human)
figure that stands guard over Kane Creek and the Colorado River from
high on a bluff. The
route involves just enough hiking to keep things interesting. This is a
must-do route for rock art enthusiasts. |

The
Moab Maiden Petroglyph is part of the "Circle of Friends"
program. Members of the "Circle of Friends"
have access to more specific information, explicit route information, GPS waypoints,
trailhead location and detailed maps. If

"Circle of Friends"
General Information:
The Moab Maiden, sometimes called the Moab Princess, is an entertaining way to spend
a couple of hours in Moab
away from the normal tourist routes. The petroglyph is a single figure in a
fascinating location.
A round trip to the Moab Maiden requires approximately
1 to 2 hours, which includes time to enjoy and explore. The
rock art is accessible year round in all weather conditions.
This is a desert environment,
every member of your hiking party should carry a minimum of at least one
liter of water.
A GPS is useful but not required for this route. Navigation for this route
is easy.
The Moab Maiden Petroglyph is
rated 1A I using the Canyon Rating System.
Trailhead Information:
This short hike is
located just outside of Moab. The trailhead is accessible year round to all vehicles.
