Rim Shot is a
short and sweet technical canyoneering adventure. This route will
attract those with a couple hours to kill and those who would like a
simple route to introduce their friends to rappelling and the sport of
canyoneering.

Canyon is part of the "Circle of Friends" program.
Members of the "Circle of Friends" have
access to more specific information, explicit route information, GPS waypoints, trailhead
location and detailed maps. If you would

"Circle of Friends"
General Information:
Rim Shot is a technical canyoneering route. Total time required form trailhead to
trailhead is approximately 2 hours. Rim Shot Canyon requires complete technical gear.
Rim Shot is rated 3A I using the Canyon
Rating System. This canyon is accessible year round. This is an excellent winter and cold weather route
provided there is no snow on the ground.
This route is suitable for beginners with competent leadership.
Navigation
for this route is moderate. A GPS and good map reading skills are useful. This canyon has an extremely small flash flood danger.
This canyon should never require any swimming or wading. The route contains
three
rappels. All anchors are easy to locate and rig.
Trailhead Information:
The Rim Shot Trailhead is located 10 minutes from Moab and is accessible to all vehicles in all weather conditions.
Take only pictures and
leave only footprints.
